⁹ “^(A)You shall not oppress a stranger, since you yourselves know the ^[a]feelings of a stranger, for you also were strangers in the land of Egypt.

³³ ‘^(A)When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not ^[a]do him wrong. ³⁴ The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as the native among you, and ^(B)you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt; I am the Lord your God.

Of Poor Countrymen

³⁵ ‘^(A)Now in case a countryman of yours becomes poor and his ^[a]means among you falter, then you are to sustain him, like a stranger or a resident, so that he may live with you.

¹⁶ “Then I ordered your judges at that time, saying, ‘Hear the cases between your fellow countrymen and ^(A)judge righteously between a person and his fellow countryman, or the stranger who is with him.

^19 (A)So show your love for the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
