¹⁷ “You shall ^(A)make a ^[a]mercy seat of pure gold, two and a half ^[b]cubits ^[c]long and one and a half cubits ^[d]wide.

^20 (A)The cherubim shall have their wings spread upward, covering the mercy seat with their wings and ^[a]facing one another; the faces of the cherubim are to be turned toward the mercy seat.

² The Lord said to Moses:

“Tell your brother Aaron that he shall not enter ^(A)at any time into the holy place inside the veil, before the ^[a]mercy seat which is on the ark, or he will die; for ^(B)I will appear in the cloud over the ^[b]mercy seat.

⁷ For the cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim made a covering over the ark and its poles from above.
