²⁸ This will belong to Aaron and his sons as a regular portion from the Israelites, for it is a contribution. It will be the Israelites’ contribution from their fellowship sacrifices, their contribution to the Lord.

²¹ They must wash their hands and feet so that they will not die; this is to be a permanent statute^(A) for them, for Aaron and his descendants throughout their generations.”

¹⁸ Any male among Aaron’s descendants^(A) may eat it. It is a permanent portion^[a](B) throughout your generations from the food offerings to the Lord. Anything that touches the offerings will become holy.”^(C)

²² The priest, who is one of Aaron’s sons and will be anointed to take his place, is to prepare it. It must be completely burned as a permanent portion for the Lord.

¹⁵ They are to bring the thigh of the contribution and the breast of the presentation offering, together with the food offerings of the fat portions, to present as a presentation offering before the Lord. It will belong permanently^(A) to you and your children, as the Lord commanded.”

⁹ It belongs to Aaron and his sons, who are to eat it in a holy place, for it is the holiest portion for him from the food offerings to the Lord; this is a permanent rule.”

Support for the Priests and Levites

⁸ Then the Lord spoke to Aaron, “Look, I have put you in charge of the contributions^(A) brought to me. As for all the holy offerings^(B) of the Israelites, I have given them to you and your sons as a portion and a permanent statute.^(C)

¹¹ “The contribution of their gifts also belongs to you. I have given all the Israelites’ presentation offerings^(A) to you and to your sons and daughters as a permanent statute.^(B) Every ceremonially clean person in your house may eat it.

¹⁹ “I give to you and to your sons and daughters all the holy contributions that the Israelites present to the Lord as a permanent statute. It is a permanent covenant of salt^(A) before the Lord for you as well as your offspring.”
