²⁰ Then ^(A)he took the calf which they had made and completely burned it with fire, and ground it to powder, and scattered it over the surface of the water and made the sons of Israel drink it.

³ And ^(A)you shall tear down their altars and smash their memorial stones to pieces, and burn their ^[a]Asherim in the fire, and cut to pieces the carved images of their gods; and you shall ^(B)eliminate their name from that place.

¹² They abandoned their gods there; so David gave the order and they were burned with fire.
