⁴ Then he took the gold from their ^[a]hands, and fashioned it with an engraving tool and made it into a ^(A)cast metal calf; and they said, “^[b]This is your god, Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.”

²⁸ So the king ^[a]consulted, and he ^(A)made two golden ^(B)calves; and he said to ^[b]the people, “It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem; ^(C)behold your gods, Israel, that brought you up from the land of Egypt.”

²⁹ However, ^(A)as for the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, into which he misled Israel, from these Jehu did not desist, including the ^(B)golden calves that were at Bethel and at Dan.

¹⁶ And they abandoned all the commandments of the Lord their God and made for themselves cast metal images: ^(A)two calves. And they ^(B)made an ^[a]Asherah, and ^(C)worshiped all the heavenly ^[b]lights, and ^(D)served Baal.

³ and they prostituted themselves in Egypt. They ^(A)prostituted themselves in their youth; there their breasts were squeezed and there their virgin breasts were handled.
