³ Go up to a land ^(A)flowing with milk and honey; for I will not go up in your midst, because you are ^[a](B)an obstinate people, and ^(C)I might destroy you on the way.”

⁵ For the Lord had said to Moses, “Say to the sons of Israel, ‘You are ^[a](A)an obstinate people; if I ^[b]were to go up in your midst for just one moment, I would destroy you. So now, take off your ^[c]jewelry that I may know what I shall do to you.’”

⁹ Then he said, “^(A)If in any way I have found favor in Your sight, Lord, please may the Lord go along in our midst, even though ^[a](B)the people are so obstinate, and ^(C)pardon our wrongdoing and our sin, and ^(D)take us as Your own ^[b]possession.”

⁵¹ “You men who are ^(A)stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears are always resisting the Holy Spirit; you are doing just as your fathers did.
