I have heard the crying of the people of Israel, because they are being held by the Egyptians. And I have remembered My agreement. So say to the people of Israel, ‘I am the Lord. I will take you away from the hard work and suffering in Egypt. I will take you away from being their servants. I will make you free by the strength of My arm and by the great things I will do to punish the guilty. Then I will take you for My people, and I will be your God. And you will know that I am the Lord your God. I will bring you out from under the heavy loads of the Egyptians.

Moreover, I have heard the groaning(A) of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant.(B)

“Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.(C) I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem(D) you with an outstretched arm(E) and with mighty acts of judgment.(F) I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God.(G) Then you will know(H) that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.
