International Children’s Bible
11 So the king called in his wise men and his magicians. With their tricks the Egyptian magicians were able to do the same thing. 12 They threw their walking sticks on the ground, and their sticks became snakes. But then Aaron’s stick swallowed theirs. 13 But the king was stubborn. He refused to listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said.

11 Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers,(A) and the Egyptian magicians(B) also did the same things by their secret arts:(C) 12 Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs. 13 Yet Pharaoh’s heart(D) became hard and he would not listen(E) to them, just as the Lord had said.
