⁴ But the Lord will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt, so that nothing of all that the Israelites own will die.”

⁶ The Lord did this the next day. All the Egyptian livestock died,^(A) but none among the Israelite livestock died.

²³ One person could not see another, and for three days they did not move from where they were. Yet all the Israelites had light where they lived.^(A)

⁷ But against all the Israelites, whether man or beast, not even a dog will snarl,^[a] so that you may know that Yahweh makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.
