⁹ You shall not oppress a resident alien; you well know how it feels to be an alien, since you were once aliens yourselves in the land of Egypt.^(A)

³³ When an alien resides with you in your land, do not mistreat such a one.^{(A) 34} You shall treat the alien who resides with you no differently than the natives born among you; you shall love the alien as yourself; for you too were once aliens in the land of Egypt.^(B) I, the Lord, am your God.

¹⁸ who executes justice for the orphan and the widow, and loves the resident alien, giving them food and clothing.^{(A) 19} So you too should love the resident alien, for that is what you were in the land of Egypt.^(B)

Rights of the Unprotected. ^17 (A)You shall not deprive the resident alien or the orphan of justice, nor take the clothing of a widow as pledge. ¹⁸ For, remember, you were slaves in Egypt, and the Lord, your God, redeemed you from there; that is why I command you to do this.

¹⁹ “Cursed be anyone who deprives the resident alien, the orphan or the widow of justice!”^(A) And all the people shall answer, “Amen!”

¹⁰ Do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the resident alien or the poor;^[a] do not plot evil against one another in your hearts.^(A)
