¹⁶ You shall ^(A)put into the ark the testimony which I shall give you.

²¹ Then ^(A)you shall put the atoning cover ^[a]on top of the ark, and ^(B)in the ark you shall put the testimony which I will give to you.

²¹ In the ^(A)tent of meeting, outside ^(B)the veil which is before the testimony, ^(C)Aaron and his sons shall keep it in order from evening to morning before the Lord; it shall be a permanent ^(D)statute throughout their generations ^[a]for the sons of Israel.

²⁰ Then he took ^(A)the testimony and put it into the ark, and ^[a]attached the poles to the ark, and put the ^[b]atoning cover ^[c]on top of the ark.

¹⁰ But the Lord said to Moses, “Put the staff of Aaron ^(A)back in front of the testimony ^[a]to be kept as a sign against the ^[b](B)rebels, so that you may put an end to their grumblings against Me and they do not die.”
