³⁹ One lamb you shall offer ^(A)in the morning, and the other lamb you shall offer ^(B)at twilight.

²⁹ And as midday passed, they raved on until the time of ^(A)the offering of the oblation, but there was no voice. No one answered; no one paid attention.

³⁶ And at the time of ^(A)the offering of the oblation, Elijah the prophet came near and said, “O Lord, ^(B)God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that ^(C)you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that ^(D)I have done all these things at your word.

⁴ Then all who ^(A)trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of the faithlessness of the returned exiles, gathered round me while I sat ^(B)appalled until the evening sacrifice. ⁵ And at the ^(C)evening sacrifice I rose from my fasting, with my garment ^(D)and my cloak torn, and fell upon my knees ^(E)and spread out my hands to the Lord my God,

²¹ while I was speaking in prayer, the man ^(A)Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the first, ^(B)came to me in swift flight at ^(C)the time of the evening sacrifice.
