^12 (A)Why should the Egyptians say, ‘With evil intent did he bring them out, to kill them in the mountains and to consume them from the face of the earth’? Turn from your burning anger and ^(B)relent from this disaster against your people.

²⁸ lest the land from which you brought us say, ^(A)“Because the Lord was not able to bring them into the land that he promised them, and because he hated them, he has brought them out to put them to death in the wilderness.”

^9 (A)But I acted ^(B)for the sake of my name, ^(C)that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations among whom they lived, ^(D)in whose sight I made myself known to them in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.
