¹¹ The Lord would speak with Moses face to face, just as a man speaks with his friend, then Moses would return to the camp. His assistant, the young man Joshua son of Nun, would not leave the inside of the tent.^(A)

¹² Then the Lord spoke to you from the fire.^(A) You kept hearing the sound of the words, but didn’t see a form; there was only a voice.^(B)

Isaiah’s Call and Mission

6 In the year that King Uzziah^(A) died, I saw the Lord^(B) seated on a high and lofty^(C) throne,^(D) and the hem of his robe filled the temple.

²² and the Holy Spirit descended on him in a physical appearance like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well-pleased.”^(A)

¹⁸ No one has ever seen God. The one and only^(A) Son, who is himself God and is at the Father’s^(B) side^[a]—he has revealed him.^(C)

⁴⁶ not that anyone has seen the Father^(A) except the one who is from God.^(B) He has seen the Father.^(C)

⁴⁷ “Truly I tell you, anyone who believes^[a] has eternal life.

⁹ Jesus said to him, “Have I been among you all this time and you do not know me, Philip? The one who has seen me has seen the Father.^(A) How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

¹⁷ Now to the King^(A) eternal,^(B) immortal,^(C) invisible, the only^[a] God,^(D) be honor^(E) and glory^(F) forever and ever. Amen.^(G)
