The Lord’s Glory

³⁴ The cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.^{(A) 35} Moses was unable to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud rested on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

² The Lord said to Moses, “Tell your brother Aaron that he may not come whenever he wants into the holy place^(A) behind the curtain^(B) in front of the mercy seat^(C) on the ark or else he will die, because I appear in the cloud^(D) above the mercy seat.^(E)

Guidance by the Cloud

¹⁵ On the day the tabernacle was set up, the cloud covered the tabernacle, the tent of the testimony,^(A) and it appeared like fire above the tabernacle from evening until morning. ¹⁶ It remained that way continuously: the cloud would cover it,^[a] appearing like fire at night.^(B)
