13 Now it came about as I prophesied, that (A)Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell on my face and cried out with a loud voice and said, “(B)Alas, Lord God! Will You bring the remnant of Israel to a complete end?”

And it came about, [a]when it had (A)finished eating the vegetation of the land, that I said,

(B)Lord God, please pardon!
[b]How can Jacob stand,
For he is (C)small?”
The Lord [c](D)changed His mind about this.
“It shall not be,” said the Lord.

Thus the Lord God showed me, and behold, the Lord God was calling to contend with them by (E)fire, and it consumed the great deep and began to consume the [d]farm land. Then I said,

(F)Lord God, please stop!
(G)How can Jacob stand, for he is small?”
The Lord [e](H)changed His mind about this.
“This too shall not be,” said the Lord God.
