30 “How sick is your heart,[a] declares the Lord God, because you did all these things, the deeds of a brazen prostitute, 31 building your vaulted chamber at the head of every street, and making your lofty place in every square. Yet you were not like a prostitute, (A)because you scorned payment. 32 Adulterous wife, who receives strangers instead of her husband!

30 “‘I am filled with fury against you,[a] declares the Sovereign Lord, when you do all these things, acting like a brazen prostitute!(A) 31 When you built your mounds at every street corner and made your lofty shrines(B) in every public square, you were unlike a prostitute, because you scorned payment.
32 “‘You adulterous wife! You prefer strangers to your own husband!
