38 [a]I will inflict on you the sentence of adultery and murder; I will bring on you bloody wrath and jealous anger.(A) 39 I will hand you over to them to tear down your platform and demolish your high place, to strip you of your garments and take away your splendid ornaments, leaving you stark naked.(B) 40 They shall lead an assembly against you to stone you and hack you to pieces with their swords.(C)

New International Version
38 I will sentence you to the punishment of women who commit adultery and who shed blood;(A) I will bring on you the blood vengeance of my wrath and jealous anger.(B) 39 Then I will deliver you into the hands(C) of your lovers, and they will tear down your mounds and destroy your lofty shrines. They will strip you of your clothes and take your fine jewelry and leave you stark naked.(D) 40 They will bring a mob against you, who will stone(E) you and hack you to pieces with their swords.
