7 I made you thrive[a] like plants of the field.(A) You grew up and matured and became very beautiful.[b] Your breasts were formed and your hair grew, but you were stark naked.
8 “‘Then I passed by you and saw you, and you were indeed at the age for love. So I spread the edge of my garment over you and covered your nakedness.(B) I pledged myself to you,(C) entered into a covenant with you—this is the declaration of the Lord God—and you became mine.(D) 9 I washed you with water, rinsed off your blood, and anointed you with oil.

8 “‘Later I passed by, and when I looked at you and saw that you were old enough for love, I spread the corner of my garment(C) over you and covered your naked body. I gave you my solemn oath and entered into a covenant(D) with you, declares the Sovereign Lord, and you became mine.(E)
9 “‘I bathed you with water and washed(F) the blood from you and put ointments on you.
