Ezekiel 16:7-9
New English Translation
7 I made you plentiful like sprouts in a field; you grew tall and came of age so that you could wear jewelry. Your breasts had formed and your hair had grown, but you were still naked and bare.
8 “‘Then I passed by you and watched you, noticing[a] that you had reached the age for love.[b] I spread my cloak[c] over you and covered your nakedness. I swore a solemn oath to you and entered into a marriage covenant with you, declares the Sovereign Lord, and you became mine.
9 “‘Then I bathed you in water, washed the blood off you, and anointed you with fragrant oil.

New International Version
7 I made you grow(A) like a plant of the field. You grew and developed and entered puberty. Your breasts had formed and your hair had grown, yet you were stark naked.(B)
8 “‘Later I passed by, and when I looked at you and saw that you were old enough for love, I spread the corner of my garment(C) over you and covered your naked body. I gave you my solemn oath and entered into a covenant(D) with you, declares the Sovereign Lord, and you became mine.(E)
9 “‘I bathed you with water and washed(F) the blood from you and put ointments on you.
