Ezekiel 16:7-9

New King James Version

⁷^(A)I made you ^[a]thrive like a plant in the field; and you grew, matured, and became very beautiful. Your breasts were formed, your hair grew, but you were naked and bare.

⁸“When I passed by you again and looked upon you, indeed your time was the time of love; ^(B)so I spread ^[b]My wing over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I ^(C)swore an oath to you and entered into a ^(D)covenant with you, and ^(E)you became Mine,” says the Lord God.

⁹“Then I washed you in water; yes, I thoroughly washed off your blood, and I anointed you with oil.

⁸“‘Later I passed by, and when I looked at you and saw that you were old enough for love, I spread the corner of my garment^(C) over you and covered your naked body. I gave you my solemn oath and entered into a covenant^(D) with you, declares the Sovereign Lord, and you became mine.^(E)

⁹“‘I bathed you with water and washed^(F) the blood from you and put ointments on you.
