17 Even with a large army and many people, Pharaoh will not be able to help him in battle when the Babylonians put up dirt ramps and set up blockades to kill many people. 18 The king of Judah broke the promise and the treaty that he pledged to keep. He did all these things, and he can’t go unpunished.
19 “ ‘So this is what the Almighty Lord says: As I live, I will certainly punish you for rejecting my promise and hating my treaty.

17 Pharaoh(A) with his mighty army and great horde will be of no help to him in war, when ramps(B) are built and siege works erected to destroy many lives.(C) 18 He despised the oath by breaking the covenant. Because he had given his hand in pledge(D) and yet did all these things, he shall not escape.
19 “‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: As surely as I live, I will repay him for despising my oath and breaking my covenant.(E)
