^3 (A)“Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God, Is it to enquire of me that you come? ^(B)As I live, declares the Lord God, ^(C)I will not be enquired of by you.

³¹ When you present your gifts and ^(A)offer up your children in fire,^[a] you defile yourselves with all your idols to this day. And ^(B)shall I be enquired of by you, O house of Israel? ^(C)As I live, declares the Lord God, I will not be enquired of by you.

¹³ And Elisha said to the king of Israel, ^(A)“What have I to do with you? Go to ^(B)the prophets of your father and to ^(C)the prophets of your mother.” But the king of Israel said to him, “No; it is ^(D)the Lord who has called these three kings to give them into the hand of Moab.”

³⁷ “Thus says the Lord God: This also ^(A)I will let the house of Israel ask me to do for them: ^(B)to increase their people like ^(C)a flock.
