27 A ruin, a ruin, a ruin I will make it! Also[a] this has not ever happened;[b] it will remain until the coming of the one to whom the judgment belongs and I have given it to him.’ 28 And you, son of man,[c] prophesy, and you must say, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh to the Ammonites[d] and concerning their disgrace,’ and you must say, ‘A sword, a sword is drawn for slaughtering; it is polished for holding, for flashing like lightning,[e] 29 when seeing a false vision for you in vain, when practicing divination for you falsely, to give[f] you on the neck of the profane ones of the wicked, whose day has come,[g] the time of final punishment.[h]

28 “And you, son of man, prophesy and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says about the Ammonites(C) and their insults:

“‘A sword,(D) a sword,
    drawn for the slaughter,
polished to consume
    and to flash like lightning!
29 Despite false visions concerning you
    and lying divinations(E) about you,
it will be laid on the necks
    of the wicked who are to be slain,
whose day has come,
    whose time of punishment has reached its climax.(F)
