Ezekiel 22:26-28

International Standard Version

²⁶Her priests have violated my Law and profaned my sacred things. They didn’t differentiate between what’s sacred and what’s common. They didn’t instruct others to discern clean from unclean things. They refused to keep^[a] my Sabbaths.

“‘I’m constantly being profaned among them. ²⁷Her princes within her are like wolves tearing their prey apart. They shed blood, destroying souls, and make unjust gain.

²⁸“‘Her prophets whitewashed all of these things through false visions and lying divinations. They kept on saying, “This is what the Lord God says…”, when the Lord has not spoken.

²⁶Her priests do violence to my law^(A) and profane my holy things; they do not distinguish between the holy and the common;^(B) they teach that there is no difference between the unclean and the clean;^(C) and they shut their eyes to the keeping of my Sabbaths, so that I am profaned^(D) among them.^(E) ²⁷Her officials^(F) within her are like wolves^(G) tearing their prey; they shed blood and kill people^(H) to make unjust gain.^(I) ²⁸Her prophets whitewash^(J) these deeds for them by false visions and lying divinations.^(K) They say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says’—when the Lord has not spoken.^(L)

²⁶Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

²⁷Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.

²⁸And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord God, when the Lord hath not spoken.
