Ezekiel 24:17-19
New King James Version
17 Sigh in silence, (A)make no mourning for the dead; (B)bind your turban on your head, and (C)put your sandals on your feet; (D)do not cover your [a]lips, and do not eat man’s bread of sorrow.”
18 So I spoke to the people in the morning, and at evening my wife died; and the next morning I did as I was commanded.
19 And the people said to me, (E)“Will you not tell us what these things signify to us, that you behave so?”

17 Groan quietly;(A) do not mourn for the dead. Keep your turban(B) fastened and your sandals(C) on your feet; do not cover your mustache and beard(D) or eat the customary food of mourners.(E)”
18 So I spoke to the people in the morning, and in the evening my wife died. The next morning I did as I had been commanded.(F)
19 Then the people asked me, “Won’t you tell us what these things have to do with us?(G) Why are you acting like this?”
