¹⁰ “^(B)Persia and ^(C)Lud and ^(D)Put were in your army, your men of war. They hung shield and helmet in you; they set forth your splendor. ¹¹ The sons of Arvad and your army were on your walls, all around, and the ^[a]Gammadim were in your towers. They hung their shields on your walls all around; they perfected your beauty.

¹² “Tarshish was your customer because of the abundance of all kinds of wealth; with silver, iron, tin and lead they paid for your wares. ^13 (E)Javan, ^(F)Tubal and ^(G)Meshech, they were your traders; with the ^(H)lives of men and vessels of bronze they paid for your merchandise. ¹⁴ Those from ^(I)Beth-togarmah gave horses and war horses and mules for your wares. ¹⁵ The sons of ^(J)Dedan were your traders. Many coastlands were ^[b]your market; ^(K)ivory tusks and ebony they brought as your payment. ^16 (L)Aram was your customer because of the abundance of your ^[c]goods; they paid for your wares with ^(M)emeralds, purple, ^(N)embroidered work, fine linen, coral and rubies. ¹⁷ Judah and the land of Israel, they were your traders; with the wheat of ^(O)Minnith, ^[d]cakes, honey, oil and balm they paid for your merchandise. ^18 (P)Damascus was your customer because of the abundance of your ^[e]goods, because of the abundance of all kinds of wealth, because of the wine of Helbon and white wool. ¹⁹ Vedan and Javan paid for your wares ^[f]from Uzal; wrought iron, cassia and ^[g]sweet cane were among your merchandise. ^20 (Q)Dedan traded with you in saddlecloths for riding. ^21 (R)Arabia and all the princes of Kedar, they were ^[h]your customers for ^(S)lambs, rams and goats; for these they were your customers. ²² The traders of ^(T)Sheba and Raamah, they traded with you; they paid for your wares with the best of all kinds of ^(U)spices, and with all kinds of precious stones and gold. ²³ Haran, Canneh, ^(V)Eden, the traders of Sheba, Asshur and Chilmad traded with you. ²⁴ They traded with you in choice garments, in clothes of ^[i]blue and embroidered work, and in carpets of many colors and tightly wound cords, which were among your merchandise. ²⁵ The ^(W)ships of Tarshish were ^[j]the carriers for your merchandise.

³ For all the nations ^[a]have drunk of the ^(A)wine of the ^[b]passion of her immorality, and ^(B)the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the ^(C)merchants of the earth have become rich by the ^[c]wealth of her ^[d](D)sensuality.”

¹⁵ The ^(A)merchants of ^(B)these things, who became rich from her, will ^(C)stand at a distance because of the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning,

¹⁹ And they threw ^(A)dust on their heads and were crying out, weeping and mourning, saying, ‘^(B)Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had ships at sea ^(C)became rich by her ^[a]wealth, for in ^(D)one hour she has been laid ^(E)waste!’

²³ and the light of a lamp will not shine in you any longer; and the ^(A)voice of the bridegroom and bride will not be heard in you any longer; for your ^(B)merchants were the great men of the earth, because all the nations were deceived ^(C)by your sorcery.
