12 “Son of man, sing a song of sorrow for the king of Tyre, and tell him, ‘The Lord God says, “You were once the mark of what is perfect, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. 13 You were in Eden, the garden of God. Every stone of great worth covered you: ruby, topaz, diamond, beryl, onyx, jasper, chrysolite, turquoise, and emerald. And you had beautiful objects of gold. They were made for you when you were made. 14 You were the cherub who kept watch, and I placed you there. You were on the holy mountain of God. You walked among the stones of fire.

12 “Son of man, take up a lament(A) concerning the king of Tyre and say to him: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:
“‘You were the seal of perfection,
full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.(B)
13 You were in Eden,(C)
the garden of God;(D)
every precious stone(E) adorned you:
carnelian, chrysolite and emerald,
topaz, onyx and jasper,
lapis lazuli, turquoise(F) and beryl.[a]
Your settings and mountings[b] were made of gold;
on the day you were created they were prepared.(G)
14 You were anointed(H) as a guardian cherub,(I)
for so I ordained you.
You were on the holy mount of God;
you walked among the fiery stones.
