17 Now in the (A)twenty-seventh year, in the first month, on the first of the month, the word of Yahweh came to me saying, 18 “Son of man, (B)Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon made his military force [a]labor hard against Tyre; every head was made (C)bald, and every shoulder was rubbed bare. But he and his military force had no wages from Tyre for the [b]labor that he had [c]labored against it.” 19 Therefore thus says Lord Yahweh, “Behold, I (D)will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. And he will carry off her [d](E)abundance and capture her spoil and seize her plunder; and it will be wages for his military force.

Nebuchadnezzar’s Reward

17 In the twenty-seventh year, in the first month on the first day, the word of the Lord came to me:(A) 18 “Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar(B) king of Babylon drove his army in a hard campaign against Tyre; every head was rubbed bare(C) and every shoulder made raw.(D) Yet he and his army got no reward from the campaign he led against Tyre. 19 Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am going to give Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king(E) of Babylon, and he will carry off its wealth. He will loot and plunder(F) the land as pay for his army.(G)
