¹⁶ I will set fire^(A) to Egypt;
    Pelusium will writhe in agony.
Thebes will be taken by storm;
    Memphis^(B) will be in constant distress.

See, the Lord rides on a swift cloud^(C)
    and is coming to Egypt.
The idols of Egypt tremble before him,
    and the hearts of the Egyptians melt^(D) with fear.

¹¹ They will pass through the sea of trouble;
    the surging sea will be subdued
    and all the depths of the Nile will dry up.^(A)
Assyria’s pride^(B) will be brought down
    and Egypt’s scepter^(C) will pass away.^(D)
