6 I will also water with thy blood the land wherein thou [a]swimmest, even to the mountains, and the rivers shall be full of thee.
7 And when I shall [b]put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark: (A)I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.
8 All the lights of heaven will I make dark for thee, and bring [c]darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord God.

6 I will drench the land with your flowing blood(A)
all the way to the mountains,
and the ravines will be filled with your flesh.(B)
7 When I snuff you out, I will cover the heavens
and darken their stars;
I will cover the sun with a cloud,
and the moon will not give its light.(C)
8 All the shining lights in the heavens
I will darken(D) over you;
I will bring darkness over your land,(E)
declares the Sovereign Lord.
