“I will destroy your cities
And you will become a wasteland.
Then you shall know [without any doubt] that I am the Lord.
5 Because you [descendants of Esau] have had an everlasting hatred [for Jacob (Israel)] and you handed over the sons of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their tragedy, at the time of their final punishment [the Babylonian conquest],(A) 6 therefore, as I live,” says the Lord God, “I will hand you over to bloodshed, and bloodshed will pursue you since you have not hated bloodshed, bloodshed will pursue you.

4 I will turn your towns into ruins(A) and you will be desolate. Then you will know that I am the Lord.(B)
5 “‘Because you harbored an ancient hostility and delivered the Israelites over to the sword(C) at the time of their calamity,(D) the time their punishment reached its climax,(E) 6 therefore as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I will give you over to bloodshed(F) and it will pursue you.(G) Since you did not hate bloodshed, bloodshed will pursue you.
