16 And the word of Yahweh came[a] to me, saying,[b] 17 “Son of man,[c] the house of Israel, they were dwelling on their soil, and they defiled it with their way and with their deeds; like the uncleanness of menstruation was their way before me.[d] 18 And I poured out my rage on them for the blood that they poured on the land and for their idols with which they defiled it.

16 Again the word of the Lord came to me: 17 “Son of man, when the people of Israel were living in their own land, they defiled it by their conduct and their actions. Their conduct was like a woman’s monthly uncleanness(A) in my sight.(B) 18 So I poured out(C) my wrath on them because they had shed blood in the land and because they had defiled it with their idols.
