16 And there were [a](A)shuttered windows looking toward the guardrooms, and toward their side pillars within the gate all around, and likewise for the porches. And there were windows all around inside; and on each side pillar were (B)palm tree decorations.

17 Then he brought me into the (C)outer courtyard, and behold, there were (D)chambers and a stone pavement made for the courtyard all around; thirty chambers [b]faced the pavement. 18 And the pavement (that is, the lower pavement) was by the [c]side of the gates, corresponding to the length of the gates.

17 Then he brought me into the outer court.(B) There I saw some rooms and a pavement that had been constructed all around the court; there were thirty rooms(C) along the pavement.(D) 18 It abutted the sides of the gateways and was as wide as they were long; this was the lower pavement.
