12 Before the chambers on the south side, there was an entrance from the east at the end of each passage, by means of which one could enter from the east.

13 Then he said to me, “The north and the south chambers which open out onto the courtyard are the chambers of the sanctuary. It is there that the priests approach the Lord and eat the most sacred offerings. There they deposit these most sacred offerings—the grain offerings, the sin offerings, and the guilt offerings—for this is a holy place. 14 When the priests have entered the holy place, they must not depart from the holy place and enter the outer court without first leaving there the vestments they have worn while performing their duties, since these vestments are holy. They shall first clothe themselves in other garments before they go near the area designated for the people.”

12 were the doorways of the rooms on the south. There was a doorway at the beginning of the passageway that was parallel to the corresponding wall extending eastward, by which one enters the rooms.

13 Then he said to me, “The north(A) and south rooms(B) facing the temple courtyard(C) are the priests’ rooms, where the priests who approach the Lord will eat the most holy offerings. There they will put the most holy offerings—the grain offerings,(D) the sin offerings[a](E) and the guilt offerings(F)—for the place is holy.(G) 14 Once the priests enter the holy precincts, they are not to go into the outer court until they leave behind the garments(H) in which they minister, for these are holy. They are to put on other clothes before they go near the places that are for the people.(I)
