So the Spirit took me up and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house.

And I heard him speaking unto me out of the house; and the man stood by me.

¶ And he said unto me, Son of man, this is the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, in which I will dwell in the midst of the sons of Israel for ever, and my holy name, the house of Israel shall no longer defile, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom, nor by the carcasses of their kings in their altars.

Then the Spirit(A) lifted me up(B) and brought me into the inner court, and the glory(C) of the Lord filled the temple.(D)

While the man was standing beside me, I heard someone speaking to me from inside the temple. He said: “Son of man, this is the place of my throne(E) and the place for the soles of my feet. This is where I will live among the Israelites forever. The people of Israel will never again defile(F) my holy name—neither they nor their kings—by their prostitution and the funeral offerings[a] for their kings at their death.[b](G)
