17 The border will run from the sea to Hazar Enan, at the border of Damascus, and on the north is the border of Hamath. This is the north side. 18 On the east side, between Hauran and Damascus, and between Gilead and the land of Israel, will be the Jordan. You will measure from the border to the eastern sea. This is the east side. 19 On the south side it will run from Tamar to the waters of Meribah Kadesh, the river,[a] to the Great Sea. This is the south side.

17 The boundary will extend from the sea to Hazar Enan,[a] along the northern border of Damascus, with the border of Hamath to the north. This will be the northern boundary.(A)
18 “On the east side the boundary will run between Hauran and Damascus, along the Jordan between Gilead and the land of Israel, to the Dead Sea and as far as Tamar.[b] This will be the eastern boundary.(B)
19 “On the south side it will run from Tamar as far as the waters of Meribah Kadesh,(C) then along the Wadi of Egypt(D) to the Mediterranean Sea.(E) This will be the southern boundary.
