When I had returned I saw on the bank of the river very many trees on the one side and on the other. Then he said to me, “This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the valley, and enters the sea. When it flows into the sea, the water will become fresh. Every living creature that swarms, wherever the rivers go, will live. And there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come there and the others become fresh. Thus everything shall live wherever the river comes.

When I arrived there, I saw a great number of trees on each side of the river.(A) He said to me, “This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah,[a](B) where it enters the Dead Sea. When it empties into the sea, the salty water there becomes fresh.(C) Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live.(D)
