³⁸ There was ^(A)a chamber with its door in the vestibule of the gate,^{[a] (B)}where the burnt offering was to be washed.

Chambers for the Priests

⁴⁴ On the outside of the inner gateway there were two ^(A)chambers^[a] in the ^(B)inner court, one^[b] at the side of the north gate facing south, the other at the side of the south^[c] gate facing north. ⁴⁵ And he said to me, This chamber that faces south is for the priests ^(C)who have charge of the temple,

⁴⁶ and the chamber that faces north is for the priests ^(A)who have charge of the altar. These are ^(B)the sons of Zadok, who alone^[a] among the sons of Levi may come ^(C)near to the Lord to minister to him.

^10 (A)other chambers was a breadth of ^(B)twenty cubits all round the temple on every side.

¹¹ And he removed the horses that the kings of Judah had dedicated to the sun, at the entrance to the house of the Lord, by the chamber of Nathan-melech the chamberlain, which was in the precincts.^[a] And he burned the chariots of the sun with fire.
