Then (A)Jeshua with his sons and brothers stood united with Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of [a]Judah and the sons of Henadad with their sons and brothers the Levites, to direct those who do the work in the house of God.

10 So the builders (B)laid the foundation of the temple of Yahweh. Then [b]the priests stood in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise Yahweh (C)according to the [c]directions of King David of Israel. 11 (D)And they sang, praising and giving thanks to Yahweh, saying, “(E)For He is good, for His lovingkindness endures forever upon Israel.” And all the people shouted with a great shout when they praised Yahweh because the foundation of the house of Yahweh was laid.

Joshua(A) and his sons and brothers and Kadmiel and his sons (descendants of Hodaviah[a]) and the sons of Henadad and their sons and brothers—all Levites—joined together in supervising those working on the house of God.

10 When the builders laid(B) the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests in their vestments and with trumpets,(C) and the Levites (the sons of Asaph) with cymbals, took their places to praise(D) the Lord, as prescribed by David(E) king of Israel.(F) 11 With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the Lord:

“He is good;
    his love toward Israel endures forever.”(G)

And all the people gave a great shout(H) of praise to the Lord, because the foundation(I) of the house of the Lord was laid.
