Ezra 4:20-22
Legacy Standard Bible
20 (A)that strong kings have been over Jerusalem, even rulers in all the provinces (B)beyond the River, and that (C)tribute, custom, and toll were given to them.
21 Now issue a decree to make those men stop, that this city may not be rebuilt until a decree is issued by me.
22 And beware of being negligent in doing this matter; why should harm increase to damage the kings?”
Ezra 4:20-22
New International Version
20 Jerusalem has had powerful kings ruling over the whole of Trans-Euphrates,(A) and taxes, tribute and duty were paid to them. 21 Now issue an order to these men to stop work, so that this city will not be rebuilt until I so order. 22 Be careful not to neglect this matter. Why let this threat grow, to the detriment of the royal interests?(B)
