²¹ “I, even I, King Artaxerxes, issue a decree to all the treasurers who are in the provinces beyond the ^[a]River, that whatever Ezra the priest, ^(A)the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, may require of you, it shall be done diligently,

³⁶ Then ^(A)they delivered the king’s edicts to ^(B)the king’s satraps and to the governors in the provinces beyond the ^[a]River, and they supported the people and the house of God.
