Ezra’s Confession
4 Everyone who trembled at the words of the God of Israel(A) gathered around me, because of the unfaithfulness of the exiles,(B) while I sat devastated until the evening offering.(C) 5 At the evening offering, I got up from my humiliation, with my tunic and robe torn. Then I fell on my knees and spread out my hands to Yahweh my God.(D) 6 And I said:(E)
My God, I am ashamed and embarrassed to lift my face toward You, my God, because our iniquities are higher than our heads and our guilt is as high as the heavens.(F)

New International Version
4 Then everyone who trembled(A) at the words of the God of Israel gathered around me because of this unfaithfulness of the exiles. And I sat there appalled(B) until the evening sacrifice.
5 Then, at the evening sacrifice,(C) I rose from my self-abasement, with my tunic and cloak torn, and fell on my knees with my hands(D) spread out to the Lord my God 6 and prayed:
