⁶ and I said, “O my God, I am ashamed and embarrassed to lift up my face to You, my God, for our iniquities have ^[a]risen above our heads and our ^(A)guilt has grown even to the heavens. ^7 (B)Since the days of our fathers to this day we have been in great guilt, and on account of our iniquities we, our kings and our priests have been given into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity and to plunder and to ^[b](C)open shame, as it is this day.

^6 (A)let Your ear now be attentive and Your eyes open to hear the prayer of Your servant which I am praying before You now, day and night, on behalf of the sons of Israel Your servants, ^(B)confessing the sins of the sons of Israel which we have sinned against You; ^(C)I and my father’s house have sinned.

^5 (A)we have sinned, committed iniquity, acted wickedly and ^(B)rebelled, even ^(C)turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances.
