²⁷[^LFor] It is written in the Scriptures:

“·Be happy [Rejoice], barren one [^CJerusalem].
    You are like a woman who never gave birth to children.
·Start singing [Burst out] and ·shout for joy [cry out].
    You never ·felt the pain of giving birth [or went into labor],
but you who are ·childless [^Ldesolate; or deserted] will have more children
    than the woman who has a husband [Is. 54:1].”
