12 (A)But the Law has nothing to do with faith. Instead, as the scripture says, “Whoever does everything the Law requires will live.”

13 (B)But by becoming a curse for us Christ has redeemed us from the curse that the Law brings; for the scripture says, “Anyone who is hanged on a tree is under God's curse.” 14 Christ did this in order that the blessing which God promised to Abraham might be given to the Gentiles by means of Christ Jesus, so that through faith we might receive the Spirit promised by God.

12 The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.”[a](A) 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law(B) by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”[b](C) 14 He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus,(D) so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.(E)
