4 So many things then you have suffered in vain, if that be vain! 5 He who ministered to you the Spirit and works miracles among you, does he do it through the deeds of the law, or by preaching of the faith? 6 It is even as Abraham believed God, and it was ascribed to him for righteousness.

4 Have you experienced[a] so much in vain—if it really was in vain? 5 So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles(A) among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?(B) 6 So also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”[b](C)
