29 But as then, he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now. 30 However what does the Scripture say? “Throw out the servant and her son, for the son of the servant will not inherit with the son of the free woman.”

New International Version
29 At that time the son born according to the flesh(A) persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit.(B) It is the same now. 30 But what does Scripture say? “Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.”[a](C) 31 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman,(D) but of the free woman.(E)
