6 And because you are children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our[a] hearts, crying, ‘Abba![b] Father!’ 7 So you are no longer a slave but a child, and if a child then also an heir, through God.[c]

8 Formerly, when you did not know God, you were enslaved to beings that by nature are not gods.

6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son(A) into our hearts,(B) the Spirit who calls out, “Abba,[a] Father.”(C) 7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.(D)
