Genesis 3:9-13

⁹Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”

¹⁰So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, ^(A)and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”

¹¹And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?”

¹²Then the man said, ^(B)“The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.”

¹³And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”

The woman said, ^(C)“The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

Have you eaten [fruit] from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?” ¹²And the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me—she gave me [fruit] from the tree, and I ate it.” ¹³Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this that you have done?” And the woman said, “The serpent beguiled and deceived me, and I ate [from the forbidden tree].”^(A)
